EAE Energie-Agentur-Elektrogeräte

The agency aims to reduce the energy consumption of electrical appliances both in use and in standby mode. Through its work, the eae seeks to improve the energy efficiency of appliances and inform consumers about energy-efficient products. In 2004 and 2006, the eae achieved its ambitious goals for improving the energy efficiency of electrical appliances.

The eae brings together several business associations, including FEA (household appliances), SWICO (information and communications technology, consumer electronics and software) and SLG (lighting), together with kf (Konsumentenforum) and Electrosuisse (the professional organisation for electrical, energy and information technology). It plays an active role in the Swiss Confederation’s SwissEnergy programme.

Through expert guidance and initiatives, the eae promotes the purchase of energy-efficient appliances and optimises their use. It aims to encourage the efficient use of energy in the appliance sector and to be available as an expert body to develop and implement voluntary measures and produce guidance on implementing official requirements in the areas of energy and the environment.
