WEEE Forum

The WEEE Forum is an international non-profit organisation focused on the disposal and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).

Since its founding in 2002, the WEEE Forum has taken on a number of key responsibilities:

  1. Promoting and coordinating initiatives to collect, treat and recycle waste electrical and electronic equipment in Europe and around the world.
  2. Providing information and guidance to manufacturers, retailers and consumers on legal requirements and best practice in WEEE management.
  3. Representing the interests of its more than 40 members to governments and authorities at the European and international levels. Its members include leading manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment and national WEEE collection and recovery schemes.
  4. Conducting research and development to create innovative solutions for more efficient WEEE recycling.

The WEEE Forum plays a key role in implementing the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE Directive) in the member states. It helps achieve the directive’s objectives effectively and minimise the environmental impact of disposing of this waste.
