Swico takes an active role as the only Swiss member of DIGITALEUROPE , the European umbrella organisation for the ICT and consumer electronics industries. Our experts take part in the Environmental Policy Group on important sector-specific topics such as ErP, WEEE, RoHS and REACH. Legislation and voluntary measures are discussed early in these groups.
As an expert body, Energie-Agentur-Elektrogeräte (eae) helps companies implement voluntary measures and measures required by the authorities. This promotes economical and efficient energy use in the appliance sector. The eae works closely with SwissEnergy, a Swiss Confederation partnership programme focused on energy efficiency and renewable energy. As part of the eae and on behalf of the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), Swico analyses electricity consumption in the ICT and consumer electronics sectors every year. The analysis uses sales figures to assess the energy efficiency of electrical appliances.
