Swiss Recycle

Swiss Recycle is the umbrella organisation for Swiss recycling systems. It promotes a sustainable circular economy in Switzerland across economic, environmental and social dimensions.

Swiss Recycle works with its seven members and various partners to create synergies and develop forward-looking circular economy solutions. It supports various stakeholder groups involved in separate collection, recycling and the circular economy through awareness-raising, knowledge sharing, networking and practical opportunities for action.

Swiss Recycle also provides educational materials, works with the media and organises events to inform people across the recycling and waste management sector and help them connect. It offers expert advice to municipalities and businesses on improving the professional management of separate collection and taking a comprehensive approach to closing material loops.

Swiss Recycle also runs platforms on specific topics where members and partners can discuss practical ideas, develop projects and build on their shared strengths. Its circular economy toolbox offers adaptable templates, guidance and information for municipalities, businesses and schools.

Finally, Swiss Recycle coordinates the successful, high-profile Recycling Day in spring. On that day, Swiss Recycle and its members and partners invite the public to put scrap and other discarded items gathering dust at home back into circulation.

Our collaboration with Swiss Recycle supports initiatives and systems that aim to recycle electronic devices in an environmentally responsible way and recover valuable resources. The recycling umbrella organisation provides transparent, well-founded information and a platform for people and organisations working in the circular economy to collaborate. The benefits extend beyond electronics recycling. According to statistics, Switzerland achieved an overall recycling rate of 52% in 2022, and the environmental benefit of recycling had increased by a factor of 3.3 since 1992.
